Settings for FT-991 and FLDIGI doing data-fm on 2m =================================================== I have the August 25th Firmware installed. I held in fast&lock as I powered on to reset all to factory defaults and then... Menu settings in FT-991. ======================== 1/. All set to default (which show as blue colour when viewed on the screen of ft-991 as I scroll though) with the exception of... 2/. menu 031 = 38400bps menu 033 = disable menu 077 = USB 3/. Choose DATA-FM mode. 4/. I was on 144.625 as I did tests today. (UK Band Plan - May be used for Emergency Communications and Community Events - which is why I am testing all this.) Computer / FLdigi settings ========================== I am using Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Yoga 2 I installed the USB drivers from Yaesu from file called CP210x_VCP_Windows.zip Then I connected the USB cable from radio to the USB socket next to power socket on laptop. Device manager show COM4 as enhanced port and COM3 as standard port. In fldigi I have... Under rig configuration, 'Hardware PTT' - just default settings i.e. not used. 'RIGCAT' - 'Use RigCat' ticked Rig description file FT-991.xml loaded. COM4 for enhanced port on my computer. Retries = 2 Retry Interval = 500 Write delay = 5 Init delay = 0 Stop bits = 1 then ONLY one of the lower boxes ticked. I can get it to work if I just tick "Toggle RTS for PTT" or INSTEAD, I can get it to work if I just tick "CAT command for PTT" all the rest unticked.... Under the Audio configuration TAB, under 'devices' I have the USB audio CODEC selected for capture and playback. My windows 8.1 offers me various choices that all mention USB Audio CODEC as it has them under MME devices, Windows DirectSound Devices and Windows WDM-KS Devices as well as just plain on list. I picked the one simply on list not under those other choices. Under Settings TAB, 48000,48000,three 0s and Medium sinc Interpolator. Under Right Channel TAB, I have Reverse Left/Right channel ticked for BOTH Tranmit Usage near top and Receive Usage near bottom. On main FLdigi screen, I selected MT63-2KL as the 'Op Mode'. I entered my call sign details etc and then click 'CQ' and out went my transmission. Note: I have not managed to test reception / proper two way today as I did not have a second computer here, I was just using a handheld to check I could hear the FT-991 was properly transmitting data.
